FAQ's
Do you provide references? To protect the confidentiality of past clients, I do not provide their information for references. Imagine, if you hired me and for the next several years, I gave out your phone number and contact information to strangers to contact you for a reference. You probably wouldn't appreciate that.
Do you provide a contract? Yes, to protect you and I, all events have a written contract.
What if you are sick on the day of my wedding? This is extremley rare, but, life does happen. If the unfortunate situation occurs, I will make EVERY effort to find a replacement DJ. If I cannot, you will be refunded all monies paid, including the non- refundable deposit. In 30 years, I have only had to cancel one event, due to illness and this was during COVID 19.
Do you help coordinate the day of events? Yes, I will help coordinate your day with other vendors and the venue staff.
What payment types do you accept? I accept Cash, Checks, Venmo, Apple cash, PayPal & Cashapp.
How much up front do I need to book you? a small non-refundable deposit is all you need to lock in a date, about 30% of the contracted price.
Why is the deposit non-refundable? Often prior to booking, there is a considerable amount of time invested in, talking with you, providing quotes, sending emails, and while holding your date, I refuse other possible bookings for the same date. The non-refundable deposit, compensates me for some of that time and some of the possible lost bookings if you do cancel. Also, if a person is willing to pay a non-refundable deposit, it shows they are serious about booking me and has some "skin in the game" so to speak. This weeds out un-serious clients.
Do you charge for travel & set up and take down? No, All quotes include travel to and from the venue, and set up and take down time outside of the contracted hours.
Why are your rates lower than the rest? I have been doing this a very long time. I have low overhead and have no employees. I do everything myself and own all of my equipment which means, no payments, so I am able to pass these savings on to you.
What can I expect to pay for a DJ? Many DJ services are priced anywhere from $1,500-$3,000. My rates are far below this, usually $1,000 or less. Just because my rates are lower, does not mean subpar service. I will give you the utmost attention to detail and attention to service standard that you would expect. How? see the above paragraph. A lot of other DJ's also upsell you with different add ons increasing the price. I don't, tell me what you want and I provide one price that includes everything. NO UPSELLS.
Can I choose my own music? Yes, you can, and I encourage it. But, if you choose not to, I have the expertise to keep your guests dancing anyway.
What kind of equipment do you use? I use professional equipment. Names like Mackie, QSC, Sennheiser, Shure, LD Systems, and Chauvet.
Do you book multiple events in a day? No, your event is the only one for that day.
Why do I use a Google website? Well, it's free and easy to update. That way I can keep my rates low while providing you excellent service.
Are you insured? Yes, I carry up to $1,000,000.00 in liability insurance to protect you, your guests and the venue.
What is the average cost of a DJ? Wedding DJ prices can vary greatly depending on many factors including your wedding’s location, the type of package you’re looking for, and your chosen DJ’s experience and level of expertise. If you’re considering hiring a DJ to play music at your wedding, keep in mind that the average wedding DJ cost in the U.S. is around $1,000 with most couples spending between $780 to $1,495. Couples are spending more on their wedding DJ nowadays than in past years as they are devoting more of their wedding budget to their guests’ experience, focusing more on music, food and more. What is your DJ style? My DJ style is energetic, professional, engaging and I keep the talking to a minimum. I let the music steal the show. My focus is always on the clients and guests.
